Welcome to Faro!

Located along the Campbell Highway, four hours from Whitehorse, Faro was once a booming mining town and today attracts visitors with its natural attractions and activities. Visitors can start off by visiting the Campbell Region Interpretive Centre featuring tourist information and wildlife displays. Fannin Sheep, a rare thin-horned species, are a popular site in town and can be viewed at the Mount Mye Sheep Centre. Birdwatching is also common in the area, with Faro situated along the Tintina Trench. The historic Dena Cho Trail, was once used by gold prospectors and now offers backcountry hiking and day trips. Spend the day fishing at Fisheye Lake, stocked with rainbow trout and kokanee, or paddle down the Pelly River, finding campsites and scenic wilderness views along its shores.
